codes and conventions of your chosen genre

Codes and conventions of your chosen genre. We were able to chose our own songs to make a music video for, I have chosen to do  the song “Teddy picker” by the arctic Monkeys, from their first album, Favourite Worst Nightmare in 2007. The music video on youtube has 41 million views,  which  one of their more popular releases. I have chosen this song mainly because it is one of my favourite songs, and I feel it is best to have chosen a song which I enjoy, as I’m going to be working with it for months to come. This has increased the focus on tours and merchandise. For example, One Direction had lots of merchandise that fans would pay for, often north of £40 for a hoodie with a One Direction logo on it, and if a fan gets all the items, it can cost north of £200. This is especially important with fan bases, like that of One Direction, which had impressionable fan bases who would get their parents to buy the merchandise for them. This essentially boils down down to the fans of the artistes  paying to advertise on their behalf, as when a band like One Direction released a hoodie with a One direction logo, the millions of fans who bought the merchandis...
